Ministry of Water and Environment Launches Mpanga Catchment Conservation Project
Uganda’s water resources have been recognized as a key driver for socio-economic transformation. Sectors with development opportunities related to water resources include: agriculture (irrigation/supplementary irrigation), livestock, fisheries, aquaculture, hydropower, industry, water transportation/navigation, mining and oil production, and tourism.

The general public is informed that all those involved in the business of drilling boreholes in Uganda have to apply for DRILLING PERMITS before they embark on any water well drilling activities. Drilling Permits are issued annually (1st July to 30th June) after submitting an application to the Director, Directorate of Water Resources Management and meeting all requirements for engaging in borehole drilling activities in Uganda. The following is therefore a list of companies with valid drilling permits for the period 1st July 2017 to 30th June 2018.
