The overall aim of the 2018 JTR was to “Assess the progress made with regards to implementation of the key actions and/or undertakings which were agreed during the 2017 JSR and also to recommend actions arising from the field visits.

The Water and Environment Sector in Uganda has an established and well-functioning coordination framework which provides consultative fora for consultations and discussions on policy and key strategic issues under the framework of Sector Wide Approach to Planning (SWAP) and implementation of sector activities. The GOU together with Sector Development Partners and other stakeholders agreed to conduct annual Joint Sector Reviews as one of the consultative arrangements for implementation of a Sector Wide Approach to Planning (SWAP) in the Water and Environment sector.
