Over a six-month period, 72 mentees from the Ministry of Water and Environment participated in the 5th Cohort of the WRI Mentorship Program, engaging in technical, leadership, and personal development sessions designed to strengthen professional capacity within Uganda’s water and environment sector.
The program combined joint technical sessions on key sector issues such as policy development, water quality, resilient WASH infrastructure, innovative financing, and data management with tailored leadership mentorship for both women and men. The women’s track was implemented by Girls for Girls (G4G), while the men’s track was implemented by Contour Consult Ltd.
The mentorship journey concluded with a high-level joint session with senior Ministry leadership, where mentees reflected on their experiences and gained insights on leadership, professionalism, and financial literacy.
A total of 72 mentees (44 women and 28 men) will graduate from the program, equipped with strengthened leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to Uganda’s water and environment sector.
