TECHNICAL HANDOVER OF LOBULE WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION FACILITIES IN KOBOKO DISTRICT TO NORTHERN UMBRELLA FOR OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Yesterday, 12th, March 2026, the Ministry of Water and Environment through the Water and Sanitation Development Facility-North held a technical handover of Lobule Refugee Settlement Piped Water Supply System and Sanitation Facilities in Koboko District
The overall aim of this technical handover was to identify the defects which will be rectified by the contractors undertaking the construction works during the defects liability period.
The contractor who has been undertaking the construction works was King Albert Construction Ltd under the supervision of Water and Sanitation Development Facility-North(WSDF-N)
The project is expected to serve a population of 4,124 by the ultimate year 2045. It will serve both the host community and Refugee Settlement areas.Villages to be served include;host community villages (Adramajiga,Dukulia Pijoke, Mijale,Aturiver) as well as Waju 1and Waju 2 for refugee Settlement

*Construction of pump house in Pijoke
*Construction of 1No.Chlorination house
*170No.household yard connections
*5 public stand posts
*Construction of Water office Block
*Construction of a 15 km distribution pipeline network
Construction of a 13 km intensification pipeline network
*Construction of a 2km transmission pipeline
*A reservoir tank
*Construction of sanitation facilities including;
I) 6stance VIP latrine for boys at Tukaliri P/S
II) 6 stance VIP latrine for girls at Tukaliri P/S
III) 2 stance VIP latrine for staff at Tukari P/S
The ceremony was officiated by Eng. Matua Richard the assistant commissioner in charge of planning and Development under UWSSD.Other participants included WSDF-N staff led by their manager Eng. Catherine Angwec Agwai, CES, Northern Umbrella,
media,community, , members Adjumani DLG and Moyo DLG
This project was funded by the Government of Uganda and co-financed by the German Government through KfW and with Consulting Engineers Salzgitter (CES) as the International Management Consultant.
