Water Use Planning and Allocation

Responsible for planning for (i) use and allocation of water resources among the various users; (ii) regulating dams and other water reservoirs to optimize use of water resources and ensure their safety; (iii) assessing applications and issuance of water permits for surface water abstraction for hydropower, and hydraulic works construction; and (iv) maintaining lakes, rivers and other water reservoirs through desilting, removal of blockages and water weeds, and enforcing protection zones to enhance their water storage capacity, benefits and services.
