About Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) Division of the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) is responsible for providing and managing the technology infrastructure, information systems and digital services that support the Ministry's operations and service delivery. The Division ensures that ICT resources are secure, reliable, accessible and fit for purpose, while promoting the effective use of technology across the Ministry. The IT Division supports the development, implementation, integration and maintenance of information systems, including data management, connectivity, cybersecurity, digital platforms, GIS and analytics. It also provides technical support to staff, manages ICT assets and software licences, strengthens data governance and business continuity, and promotes digital skills and innovation. Through these functions, the Division enables evidence-based decision-making, efficient business processes, secure information sharing and improved delivery of the Ministry's water and environmental management mandate.
