Department Mandate

Development of strategies and guidelines; and implementation of
technical functions of cross- cutting nature including; Safeguards, Gender, HIV/AIDS
mainstreaming and community mobilization.

The Sector Liaison Department serves as the central coordination and communication hub between the ministry and external stakeholders such as development partners, other government institutions, and civil society organizations. It facilitates collaboration, supports the alignment of sector activities with national policies, and promotes the implementation of sector-wide approaches. By ensuring effective information sharing, resource mobilization, and joint planning, the department enhances transparency, accountability, and the overall performance of the water and environment sectors.
