Umbrella of Water and Sanitation- Central concluded the Water for People funded sanitation marketing campaign
Umbrella of Water and Sanitation- Central concluded the Water for People funded sanitation marketing campaign with a community engagement meeting at Kakooge Play Grounds in Nakasongola District.
The aim of the meeting was to market the sanitation services being provided by Central Umbrella and call center toll free number to the Nakasongola community to easily access toilet emptying services.
The community was also sensitized on other issues concerning toilet hygiene and sanitation as well as water user inquiries which included;
- Proper toilets to construct.
- Proper hand washing practices.
- Proper dumping of waste.
- Toilet emptying fees.
- The sanitation hotline.
- The fecal sludge dumping facility.
- Sludge management and recycling solutions.
- New connection issues.
- Service reliability concerns were also addressed.
The community meeting was attended by different stakeholders including; representatives from the Ministry of Water and Environment, the Water for People SHF Grants Officer, Mr. Raphael Okoth, the Chairman Umbrella Executive Board, Mrs. Babirye Evans, the LC5 Chairperson Nakasongola Hon. Kigula Sam, the Mayor Kakooge Town Council, Hon. Semayaza Ronald, LC 1, LC 2 and LC3 chairpersons, Councillors from different villages, VHTs, Umbrella staff and the community at large.
