SITE HANDOVER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WASH AND INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES IN SCHOOLS IN OYAM DISTRICT
Today, officials from Water and Sanitation Development Facility North, Consulting Engineers Salzgitter (CES), Oyam DLG, community representatives and other relevant stakeholders handed over sites to the contractor Kejatu Quality Services Limited to commence construction works for Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and infrastructure facilities in schools in Northern Uganda-Lot B in Oyam District
The construction works is expected to take a period of nine months & one year of defects liability period. Areas to be covered include Abdullah Anyuru memorial college, Minakulu Primary School, Dr.Oryang Secondary School, Adel Primary School, Atapara Secondary School, Atapara West Primary School & Amati Primary School. These schools are located in Minakulu Town Council, Kamdini & Aber Sub-Counties and Oyam District

These schools are apart of 199 schools in Northern Uganda benefitting from the Gender for Development Uganda (G4DU) project funded by European Union and being implemented by WSDF-North on behalf of KfW
The government of Uganda through German Financial Cooperation received funds through KfW to implement the Climate Resilience and Water infrastructure for Refugees and Host Communities in Northern Uganda program. One of the projects under the program is the EU financed WASH and infrastructure in schools which aims to support the improvement of inclusive access to safe water supply and sanitation in schools and communities
