Ramsar COP15-Strengthening action on culture and wetlands

Ramsar COP15 was held in Zimbabwe(23-31 July, 2025) with a delegation led by the PS Dr Alfred Okot Okidi and deputized by the Acting Director- DEA Mr. Okurut David. The Conference of Parties was officially opened by the president of Zimbabwe, His Excellence Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
Uganda tabled a resolution on strengthening action on culture and wetlands that received enormous support. Uganda also exhibited its wetland products and publications and also co-hosted 3 side events;
• National Wetlands Inventories: Tools, Challenges and Opportunities across the Globe
• Strengthening action on sustainable lifestyles and culture for wise use of wetlands – A key to transformative shifts in Ramsar’s impact
• Ramsar Regional Initiatives – delivering for Ramsar globally through regional partnerships.
