OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF NAKONDO SOLAR-POWERED WATER PROJECT IN SEMBABULE DISTRICT
Today, officials led by Eng. Olweny Lamu, Ag Commissioner RWSSD, launched the Solar-Powered Piped Water Supply and Sanitation System in Nakondo, Sembabule District, alongside Hon. Hanifah Kawoya, Woman MP Sembabule District, and other dignitaries.
The project, funded under the Integrated Water Management and Development Project (IWMPD), will serve 3,381 people in Nakondo A, Nakondo B, Kakika A, Kakika B, Kakika Central, and Kezinga.
PROJECT COMPONENTS
- Production well: 7.6m³/hr
- 69m³ reservoir tank on a 20m tower
- 3,236m transmission line
- 6,847m distribution lines
- 300 promotional connections
- Sanitation facilities at schools and health facilities
During the launch, the project contractor GAT Consults Limited was officially introduced to the stakeholders. Construction works are expected to be completed within 7 months.
