The National Pre-COP30 Forum is an annual event in which Stakeholders gathered not only to validate the readiness for COP30, but to affirm Uganda’s unwavering commitment to addressing the urgent, complex challenges of climate change.
The Pre-COP30 Forum served as a platform to mobilise stakeholders across Government, Parliament, Civil society, Academia, Private sector, Youth, and Women’s groups. It validated Uganda’s negotiation positions, strengthened coordination, and raised awareness of Uganda’s climate priorities.
The objectives of the forum were to:

- Validate the linkages between the updated Nationally Determined Contributions 3.0 and Uganda’s strategy for COP30 negotiations, ensuring coherence between domestic policy priorities and international commitments.
- Foster dialogue among Government, Parliamentarians, Civil society, Academia, and Private sector actors to enhance ownership and inclusivity of Uganda’s COP30 positions.
- Strengthen the capacity of Uganda’s negotiators through simulations, thematic discussions, and cross-sectoral exchanges.
- Raise awareness and mobilise support for Uganda’s COP30 agenda through communication and visibility initiatives.
