Overview
The Uganda Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate Smart Development (IFPA-CD) Project is a Government of Uganda initiative, co-financed by the World Bank, aimed at improving the sustainable management of forests and protected areas while increasing benefits to communities in target landscapes of western and north-western Uganda. Structured around four key components—Improved management of protected areas; Increased revenues and jobs from forests and wildlife; Improved landscape management; and Project management and monitoring—the project focuses on enhancing ecosystem services, generating revenue, and supporting resilient livelihoods, with particular attention to raising the incomes of women and communities in refugee-hosting districts.
