As Uganda strides towards realization of its Vision 2040, the Ministry of Water and
Environment (MWE) plays a pivotal role in attaining objectives of the National
Development Plan IV (NDP IV) and Strategic Development Plan from 2025/26 to
2029/30. This Plan focuses on Climate resilience and socio-economic
transformation through sustainable development and management of water and
environment resources.
This Strategic Plan serves as a guide for the Ministry throughout this five-year
period, outlining priorities, strategies, and targets to fulfill its mandate according
to the national development agenda and in line with the tenfold growth strategy of
the NDPIV. It provides a comprehensive framework that directs all water and
environment interventions, ensuring they contribute to national goals of socioeconomic development, poverty reduction, and sustainable natural resource
management.
