
Ministry Completes Burunga Valley Tank Project in Kazo
Kazo District – The Ministry of Water and Environment, through the Department of Water for Production Regional Centre West, has completed the final inspection of the Burunga Valley tank in Bwantama village, Kazo District.
The 10-million-litre facility, designed to serve surrounding villages and farmers, is expected to boost agricultural production and improve community livelihoods.
Speaking at the inspection, the Deputy RDC thanked the President for the project and urged farmers to maintain it collectively. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and interest in extending the water supply to their farms. Ministry officials encouraged responsible use and pledged continuous monitoring, even after the handover.
The project includes a 10,000m³ valley tank, solar pumping system, reinforced concrete tank tower with two 10,000-litre tanks, livestock watering troughs, a pump house, fenced perimeter, and water distribution pipelines.
With construction now complete, the facility will soon be handed over to the community for operation and maintenance.
