CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR UNDERTAKING AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL AUDIT FOR THE INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (IWMDP).

The Government of Uganda (GoU) through Ministry of Water and Environment has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Integrated Water Management and Development Project (IWMDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Consultancy Services for undertaking an Environmental and Social Audit for the Integrated Water Management and Development Project (IWMDP).

The consulting services (“the Services”) include:
(i) To obtain an independent perspective on compliance with procedures, internal functioning and effectiveness of E&S systems during the implementation of the subprojects in table 1 of the ToR.
(ii) To review the implementation of the ESIA/ESMP, RAPs, SPPs and CMPs
(iii) To assess the compliance of implementing agencies and contractors with conditions of project permits and certificates issued by the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs
(iv) To assess the extent to which contractors have adhered to the site-specific Contractors’ Environmental and Social Management Plans (CESMPs) during pre-construction and the construction period (v) To identify the key environmental and social issues, compliance challenges and recommendations for each sub-project.
