CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR UNDERTAKING AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL AUDIT FOR THE INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (IWMDP).

The Government of Uganda (GoU) through Ministry of Water and Environment has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Integrated Water Management and Development Project (IWMDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Consultancy Services for undertaking an Environmental and Social Audit for the Integrated Water Management and Development Project (IWMDP).

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND ESTABLISHMENT OF MANAGEMENT MODEL FOR KABUYANDA LARGE-SCALE PIPED IRRIGATION SCHEME (ISINGIRO DISTRICT)

The National Irrigation Policy calls for users to be fully involved and contribute to the O&M cost of irrigation schemes, to promote ownership and sustainability. This contribution to the users is critical to limit the impact of such a massive irrigation expansion on government budget. While the Policy calls for the costs of service provision to be borne by the beneficiaries, fee recovery in the existing irrigation schemes in Uganda has generally been poor, sometimes uneconomic to administer and rarely related to performance or quality of service.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO IMPLEMENT A PERFORMANCE-BASED FOREST SECTOR AND WOOD PROCESSING SUBSIDY SCHEME.

The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE, Lead Agency, henceforth also ‘the Client’), Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and National Forestry Authority (NFA) is implementing the "Uganda – Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate-Smart Development (IFPA-CD) Project” with funding from the Word Bank and Government of Uganda counterpart funding.

The Government of Uganda with Financial assistance from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has embarked on construction of three (3) Irrigation schemes of; Namalu in Nakapiripirit, Unyama in Amuru/Gulu districts and Sipi in Bulambuli district.    The aim of the project is to utilize the irrigation potential so as to increase farm production and productivity thereby increasing incomes, enhancing food security and improving the livelihoods of farmers and the beneficiary community as a whole.  The project will also contribute to improved climate resilience through sustainable natural resource

RECRUITMENT OF FIVE (5) FIELD MONITORING OFFICERS UNDER IFPA- CD PROJECT

The World Bank and GoU are supporting improved management of forest resources in refugee hosting areas. The IFPA-CD Project Development Objective is to improve sustainable management of forests and protected areas and increase benefits to communities from forests in target landscapes. Component 3 of the project focuses on refugee-affected areas and is being funded under the Refugee Sub-Window of the International Development Association.

SUPERVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SAFEGUARDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MATANDA IRRIGATION SCHEME IN KANUNGU DISTRICT

The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA) for the implementation of the Irrigation for Climate Resilience Project (P163836) (ICRP). The project will provide farmers in the project areas with access to irrigation and other agricultural services, and establish management arrangements for irrigation service delivery.
